Spark Plugs...Am I the only one? LoL

One major thing that really pisses me off with the LT1 is the angled plugs...Now before working on one, I was like "oh what a great idea, as it's probably easier to remove/install plugs.
Well I guess that's one of those theory vs reality things because I find it a pain in the *** to install* plugs mainly, because you must get that angle perfectly or the plug wont thread in.
Also...even with headers, it's almost impossible to get my compression gauge hooked up. :S

Maybe I'm the only one, but I want to know everyone's thoughts, maybe there's some unknown super secretive tip only available to the few hand picked car gods out there. Let me know lol.

After doing them five times, I went from 8 hours to now only 1 1/2 hours. The trick is knowing where the best access for each one is. Some from the top, others from the bottom and the rest are just a down right pain in the butt!! Last time I did the easy ones and quit and have never gone back.

I hate the plugs on the passenger side!

You're definitely not the first person to ever notice this, but you are about 15 years late for the on line bitch session.

I feel your pain, with factory exhaust manifolds they are a pain. I got most of mine from underneath the car before I got headers. I got Mac mid lengths and plug access is great. Not all headers offer good access but the Macs do.

My Bbk shorties sucked for plug changes. My pacesetters not so much but like stated above once you've done it 4-5 times it gets pretty simple. I found unhooking the fitting and line to my compression tester and then threading the gauge to it worked best.

I made a tool for mine years ago by cutting down a plug socket and drilling out the end. Just stick a ratchet wrench on the end of the tool and go to town.

97WS6SCharged, I did the same thing about 3 years ago on a lathe, works awesome wish I thought of it sooner. Too bad can't do something similar for a compression tester...
