spark plugs

spark plugs

i got a 97 lt1 camaro. i want to change the spark plugs it does seem intimidating. so i wanna if its best i try and do them myself or should i take it to a shop??

Have you ever changed spark plugs before? Do you have the required tools?

May I suggest if you have ramps, get it up on them and get under it and spend 15 minutes looking around. You may find it good time spent getting to know your car. Might be easier than you thought or was told. I am a new Z owner a few weeks into it, and I have found out this car is not that big of a deal. I would rather put plugs in this car than a timing belt in a CRX!

yeah i got the right tools and no i havent changed them myself yet last time i had a friend to them..this time i wanna do it myself...i already know the engine ive fixed a good part of it but them spark plug haunt me haha..ill give it a shot

The key is caution. You can really mess the heads up if you strip the plug threads.

I don't know if it works on the Camaro, but on the LT1 Caprice, the trick was to take the front wheels off and go in through the wheel wells. Lots of room going that way.
