Spark Plug Wire Replacement
Just a quick question, of the 3 mechanics i have talked to in the past few days all of them say it is a 4+ hour job to replace the spark plug wires in my 95 z28. Just curious but why the lengthy time, and could i do it by myself with basic knowledge of the engine?
Thanks,
Jason

Its lengthy b/c of everything being in the way. If you take alook at how the stock looms route the plugs you can see how much of a mess it is. Yes you can change them yourself. I wouldnt say 4+ hrs but maybe 2 if you take your time. The passenger side is where most of the time is taken up. I plan on doing plugs and wires myself when i throw on some LT headers which makes it so much easier to get to . HTH good luck man.

I dont know of any walk through....
Jack up the car, and set jack stands...
Look at the area and make a plan of action...
The driver side is not to hard...
On the pass side takes time because the wires are next to the block and there are hoses in the way..... I just removed one wire at a time and replaced....
Total time was around 2 hours from start to finish, with a couple of breaks, cursing,..but it wasnt to bad...
Just Be patient and have fun with the money youll save from having someone else doing it...

plugs and wires on these cars is a BIATCH!!!!! It took me 4 hours just to do the friggin plugs. The wires are a pain in the but just cause they are hard to follow their routes. LS1 spark plugs are a littke easier and the wires are cake, lucky bstd!
