spark plug gap ??
spark plug gap ??
stock gap is 50 thousandths is more better or less better considering mods and fuel octane? is it the wider the gap the hotter the spark or vise versa can somebody shed some light on this? thanks!!
When you raise the compression pressure do to more horsepower, you risk the chance of blowing out the spark with the stock gap. An ignition system upgrade to produce a hotter spark is advised when you're running N2O. I would also reduce the spark plug gap to .035 - .040. Also an ignition system that let's you dial out some timing is a good investment for N2O.
Playing with wider gaps is a little trick to make a hotter spark and gain some extra power. However, you would almost need to monitor the car on a dyno because if you widen the gap too much, you will end up hurting your numbers.
i reduced the gap on this set of tr6 i just put in and it seems to not hit on all cylinders till it reaches operating temp would a ignition system help and if so which donu prefer crane or msd
