Spark plug gap?

I searched and found some info just wanted to make sure I'm on the right page here, one thing i read was factory gap was .050 and someone said that they should set it to .035, well since i am installing new wires, plugs, and a new opti i should just set it to .050 correct? Just wanna make sure i know for sure before i go and do all this and end up having to do it over or some bs. Thanks Oh btw the wires are low ohm resistant wires and the plugs are autolite platinum (AP106)

Re: Spark plug gap?

.050 is what I have mine gapped at..I think the .035 is for a different style of plug, I am thinking it was the NGK TR-5, but I am not sure about that, somebody else might confirm.

Re: Spark plug gap?

0.035 is generally used with power adder applications, and for non-platinum plugs. With platinum plugs on a relatively stock engine (an assumption, because you haven't given us any info about the year of the car, and any major mods) you will be fine with 0.050"

Might want to add a "signature" with basic info about your car, so people can give you more meaningful responses.
