If you dont do it yourself, your always going to pay out the boot. I'm willing to fight with the car when people are getting charged $900 for a simple Opti swap, that is robbery.

Plus I know I wont be stripping threads on the car like someone trying to take shortcuts so they can go home early, you I would hope will treat your car with more respect than anyone else.

What plugs are you having trouble with? Maybe I can help by at least telling you what stuff works best on what plugs. Off the top of my head, I use box wrench on 1, 6,8 for sure. Regular 3/8" ratchet with 5/8" 12 pt spark plug socket on 2, 3, and 4. I use a 1/2" ratchet with 1/2 to 3/8" adapter into regular 5/8 12 pt spark plug for 5. And i use a 3/8" universal into a 5/8 regular spark plug socket for #7. I have to go to church now but email me if you want even better directions. I have hooker lt's though so that might make a difference. Good luck!

Yeah you got took........speedshops around here usually charge $150 labor to change plugs and wires. I do mine myself . I can do the plugs and wires in about 2.5 hours.

I look at it this way....invest in the tools to do the job(slp plug socket $25, 3/4 ratchet stile box wrench ..$49 for the set) ...thats $75 for the right tools. Ask a few questions on how to go at it on this board and your good to go for less than $200 for a plug and wire change and you have a great set of wrenches to use on future projects when your through. I always look at a project as another opertunity to tell the wife I need another cool tool or 2

Nobody, even some of the people you trust, will put as much care and effort into your car than you would. When I first got my car, I had my friend's shop change my oil for free... I thought hey I'm getting hooked up, free oil change woo hoo. When I started learning how to do stuff to the car (free mods, oil changes etc.), I got under the car to do the next oil change. My POS oil filter was so loose it was about to just rattle off... After that I never took my car to another shop... now, plugs and wires are cake. Do it yourself, save yourself BS and money.

You know, not to sound like an ***, but I really can't believe some of you pay money for a plug change or tuneup. Instead of paying out the *** for someone else's labor, invest $15 in a Haynes or Chilton manual and do your own work. You will feel better about it, and like others have said, you know its good work when you're doing it.
