this sound right?

well, i wasnt able to find out the cause behind my low RPM miss (misses at 2k), so i took it to the guy that had always done ALL of the work on the car for the most recent owners (owned it from 135k to 145k miles)

well, he gave me a lovely quote
said i need
plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, fuel filter
i figured the plugs and plug wires, but do i probably need to do the cap and rotor, because i thought when the cap and rotor went out, it caused high RPM misses?

I just replaced my opti whole, my misses were all over the rpm range, including idle. They were even more pronounced while running at low RPM, because they felt worse...

My bad opti caused misses at low RPMs (1500 - 2500). I think bad ones can cause problems at almost any RPM range.

You might want to spend the little extra amount and just replace the whole opti since it is accessible anyhow. The cap and rotor aren't the only parts that wear out on the distributors.

Check the water pump before you remove anything. I had a problem and it turned out water from the weep hole was getting on the distributor. This is a hugh reason these things go bad so much. I agree in replacing the entire opti espically since you have such high miles. You should be between 3-4 hundred for all the parts minus labor.

1. Pick up phone
2. Dial
3. ask for Jason / Dal
4. Give car specs
5. Ask for price
6. Buy beer with the $$ u save

You do have a pre 95 non-vented opti which does cost a little more. You may want to consider doing a 95 opti conversion...
