Soooo close to 12's

I went to the track last week and got some new track times. I am in Feyettville NC. I am so close to the 12's i can taste it. The three best runs I had were. 13.07, 13.03, and finally the closest was 13.01. My trap speeds were all around 106.5mph and my 60ft's were in the 1.95 range. I ran with the mods in signature with the exception of nitrous, it was not used on any of these runs. Car is pretty much full weight, the only think I had out of the car was the spare tire and jack. What do u guys think??

Little more hook or a little more mph. You are almost there.

Don't worry, you are doing well. It took me 109mph to hit 12.9 on street tires. Hell last time out I did 13.3 @ 113.

Drop 15lbs and you are there

Ideas: (without gutting the car )
remove N20 bottle for N/A runs
leave floormats at home
take a good dump before you hit the track
stavation diet (LOL)
run with as much fuel as you need (don't fill it 100% unless you have to)
take the spare tools out of the glovebox
leave that heavy wallet with me, I'll take care of it

That or practice launching, if you can cut .008-.015 off your 60' time
you should be able to reach 12.999

Nittos should be sticky enough to get you down a little further

If you really want it, just drop the accessory belt off. Wont hurt the car for a run....since the wp is cam driven, the car wont overheat. Also unbolt the passenger seat....very easy way to get rid of some extra weight.

Have a good battery if you do.

**edit, I have an electric water pump, so I worry more about keeping good power. Also throw in a bigger coil, an ignition box, and other electronics

If you don't want to change anything, just wait until the fall weather hits. You'll be there NO PROBLEM.

Re: Soooo close to 12's

I was hoping to reach 12's with the mods in my sig, I tryed for 2 yrs, this year I decided to stretch for it with a few mods. I just put on 1.6 RR's, LT headers, 3" exhaust, and I pulled a little weight. When I get it back together (hopefully in the next few weeks) I hope to see if I got there yet...

There is some good info in this post to drop you down, you are really close, good luck with it...

BTW I was getting 1.83 60's on nitto's and mods in my sig so try to get that launch down, and you'll be there the way the car sits now...

Re: Soooo close to 12's

all you need is a stall converter. around 3000 will set you in the marks for 12's easy

Re: Soooo close to 12's

It was about 95 degrees and humid as hell that day too. I even had extra **** in my hatch and a full tank of gas to add to that. I actually did pretty good compared to alot of the other cars there that day. There was an 04 Cobra there running low 13's and a brand new C6 Vette runnin high 13's and a brand new Mustang GT running 13.9's. I am not too damn about it, I know I will hit 12's when it cools down a little bit. I might go back this weekend with a little bit of weight takin out. I will let u guys know how it goes. Thanks, Dustin.
