Somone please help me! My car won't start...

Ok this is like my third thread but the problems got worse, my car is getting so much fuel it seems like that now it can't start. The second I tried starting it it ran but once i let off the gas it stalled. Tried starting it again and floor it to go into clear flood mode and it just wont start!!! It does however keep kicking when I turn it over... I checked all my plug wires, coil to opti spark and etc and nothing. The backfiring got worse since day 1 (seems like over night) Before it was small little pops and it could idle, then the next huge *** bangs and pops and flooded like mad. Im scared that my exhaust piping is going to blow up. I cant even start it to diognose the problem! I feel like just dropping an entirely new engine into it, this is getting to be too much.

XE 224/230 cam, Ported heads, PCM4Less, hookerlongtubes

Problems started right after I did the install, and havent figured out these problems since.

You can smell gas in the house from when it WAS running, and the fuel pressure is at 36 PSI when it was running, 38PSI primed..

I would check the tune. Maybe PCMforless goofed. Did you do the cam install yourself?

I did the cam install myself, and just loaded the stock program. Still wont start because the engine was flooded previously. I checked 3 easy accessible wires, #2,3 and 7. 3 and 7 looked black on the ceramic while number 2 was pure white with a little faint sign of use around the electrodes. Any ideas?

PS: My opti has never been replaced and I have 98k miles on the car. I don't think I spilled coolant on it taking the WP off but its definetely a possability. Some coolant dropped when I unbolted the WP, but the opti appeared to be try when I removed it.

Obviously you still have the huge "split" BLM's and the plugs prove it. You mentioned at one point that there was only a 2psi difference between the fuel pressure at idle, and the pressure with the key shut off.... maybe a sign of a leak in the FPR diaphragm. That would dump fuel into the passenger side, through the vacuum line. Check the line for raw fuel.

You also had some weak vacuum in the log I looked at, and the vacuum actually increased when you opened the throttle - a$$ backwards.... check the valves. Check the MAP sensor.

Check the ignition fuse under the hood. The connections on mine were loose, and I could not start my car for over a week. Just a thought.

Oops, It was the #3 plug that was white while the #4 and #7 were black. So a white and a black plug were on the same bank. I just checked the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line and there was no fuel in it, and you can tell its been dry.

Fuse is fine, started for a while today then died. it seems like my timing is off somehow. I dont get how I can have a rich and lean cylinder on the same bank (white and black plug).

Your opti probably died. The plug that's black isn't firing well, so it's getting fouled. My opti got real bad when the car sat for a week while I was installing headers. I couldn't figure out what I'd done wrong. Finally replaced the opti and it ran perfect! My opti had 60K miles on it.

Well i finished the drivers side plugs, #1, #5, and #7 were all black and wet like the one in this pic, Also #4 looked like this.

On the other hand #3 looked brand new, I think it looked like it had a slight sign of use around the tips and it stank of raw fuel like all the plugs did.

I didnt check #2, #6 and #8 in fear that I would faint from loss of blood I can thought if somone thinks its necissary?

Just did a continuity test on the #3 plug wire, there is continuity. Is it possible for the opti to not send any spark to a select cylinder?

My car did the exact same thing before. It would just backfire if it started and die at idle. But i didn't do anything to it for mods, it just started doing it. It turned out to be the opti. Apparently the cap wasn't on very well and water leaked in. So it could be the opti for you.

I found my 5 and 3 wires crossed a second ago, im not sure if that was from me unplugging my opti boots to see if they were seated correctly after the car wouldnt start or it was always that way. I hope it was always that way, but it still wouldnt start. How long before a flooded engine will start again, and if my plugs are fouled will they "un" foul with time?

I'm not sure about them unfouling, but my engine wouldn't start today after it was running yesterday and it turned out it was flooded. We swapped back in my old plugs and it started right up. Just pick up some cheap ngk's (tr6's) and throw them in there.
