That sounds like the trans mount to me. It's an easy fix about 30 min to replace.

I had the same thing, so I jacked it up and had a look under to see..............

Turns out there was a damn midget with a hammer under there!

I took his hammer away.

Yep, that's most likely the culprit. Get an aftermarket mount, like Energy Suspension or something, they last alot longer.

Sounds like a tranny mount. I went through 3 in 2 months before I got a hardend one.

EDIT: damn flood control, everyone beat me to it

It could be the torque arm bracket too. The bolt could have come out at the top and the arm is hitting the floorpan. I had this happen when I was breaking in my clutch. Might be worth taking a look at....

I'll vote for tranny mount too, I posted about the same thing last winter and thats about the same set of circumstances. I would definatly go with an energy suspension bit or something, I destroyed my stock replacement in about a month. Seems to be the norm on this board.

sounds like the tranny mount but whatever you do DO NOT BUY THE ENERGY SUSP mount!!! it will cause your drive shaft angle to be too high and vibe!! learn from my mistake. get a 1LE mount from GM.

Whatever you do, do not drive this car hard until you get that new trans mount on there! You could end up cracking your transmission housing.

where can i get one of these mounts, solid or one that will work good, has any one else had the drive shaft problem being to high with the one mount. Do you think it would be cool to drive it easy, it is the mount i checked to day. The rubber part broke right off the metal part. Its kinda cool it happened because i found my bad mis, burnt back plug wire.

thanks

I had a midget with a hammer under the car as well, and he decides to hit the frame when he is about to fall off under acceleration, or hard downshifts.....

he told me until his replacement can come, he told me to keep the foot off the gas. lol.

but seriously, which tranny mount to go with? and where to get?
