someone take a stab at this

So I put in some pro mag 1.6 rr about 2 months ago (brand new)...well recently I popped the valve covers off only to discover that i had light rust forming around them... So for now I'm going to readjust the rockers with a buddy because we thought maybe they were too tight or something....which i doubt caused it. Pro mags are steal and not aluminum but again they're practically brand new. Has anyone else with this style rockers had a similar problem?

RUST! you need to run the engine with the valve covers off, there should be oil spraying them and the should never have a chance to rust.... that is no good. Could be a sign of a leak in the colling system and water may be getting into your valvecovers...

They always do that. The best way to combat that problem is to run the car longer. Short trips cause moisture in the oil. If you have to take short trips, let the car run longer to warm up and idle longer to cool down.

^ problem solved...i hope. This is true I usually drive the car around town short trips and then come back and shut it off. I guess I should let it idle once i'm done driving it. Does how often I drive effect it as well. Because i've had the car about 3 years and have only put about 5k miles on it..... I know it's a sad thing but the time that it sits only goes into modding it...lol.
