Question Clutch pedal must be stabbed for the car to start???

I think I found out why my car wouldn't start up. I replaced the starter and still have the same symptoms. I found that, unless I stab the clutch pedal as close to the floor as it gets, the car won't start.

What's my starting issue then? Is it the clutch pedal switch or do I need to do something with the adjustable master cylinder on my street twin? I don't know anything about working on either of those areas so any help or advice would be great.

dude, EVERY stock manual car from any mfg. will have to have the clutch pushed all the way in to start. All my friends have manuals, and i have started them and the clutch has to be pushed all the way in.

Do you mean you are like really hammering the clutch in? Or.. just pushing untill it stops? If your just pushing it untill it stops them thats how it is supposed to be... if you have to really hammer it down then maybe the clutch isn't fully disengaging Maybe your low on hydraulic fluid? I'm certainly no clutch expert.. I'm just going on basic knowledge.. and I mean very basic..

The switch is on the clutch petal linkage under the dash. It's adjustable.

The pedal is damn near going through the floor before it will start, if it starts at all. I put all my weight on it to get it beyond the normal limit, sometimes it will start up.

So I should try adjusting the switch on the Pedal? Also, I'm not sure where to check my clutch hydraulic fluid but I should be getting my car manual in the mail today from home to find out. However, I did check this one small reservoir next to the brake master cylinder under the hood and it showed half-full, I just don't know what it is for.

I have the Mcleod ST with adjustable master cylinder, I wonder if I need to adjust that?

Yes, that's your clutch reservoir.

This is more to adjust at what point your clutch ingages. Adjust this first then the switch.

Can someone guide me on how to adjust my master cylinder or a site that may have directions?

Sorry for all the questions and I appreciate the help.

Never mind yall, looks like all I needed to do was change out the switch on the clutch. costs about $8 from the dealer, just plug it in All this after replacing the starter and dropping over $200 for it and some tools .
