Someone please tell me what the **** is wrong with this pos.
I have a '97 TA and I'm having the high idle ******** problem. Idles at 1500 with the clutch in or neutral. When slowing to a stop light in gear, I push the clutch in and the rpms shoot up to 2300 and stay there until I come to a stop. The damn thing won't even slow down in gear if I let off the gas.
So far. I replaced the TPS...that didn't do ****. I took the tb off and cleaned it and cleaned the IAC and bought all 3 new gaskets for it. After I did that, it ran fine for a couple days. Now today its back the the same ****. It's starting to get real annoying. Anyone have any suggestions? Is my IAC possibly bad?

Re: Someone please tell me what the **** is wrong with this pos.
sounds ike a stupid question but can you feel the gas petal move up when you release your foot? the reason i'm asking is that your throttle body might be sticky....but thats one heck of a sticky throttle body! im not talking about the blades...where the blades are mounted, look on the sides.
just as a suggestion.

it is possible you have a vacuum leak around the tb shaft.
How many miles?
One thing you can do is, take some carb cleaner and spray aound the tb. Spray around the gasket area and the shaft. Hoping to hear the engine rpm change.

I haven't tried that yet...I will later. It was nice over the weekend so I took it out, now it's cold and snowing again.
