SOMEONE please help!! is it IAC??? OR TRANNY OR WHO KNOWS....

Ok im kinda starting to get frustrated, but I havent given up on her....hahahaa

It started with my car running rich.and blowing black smoke out the pipes and the car had a HIGh Idle, and would shift kinda weird, Its like it takes long to shift gears(its an automatic) and if im on the highway and doing 70mph the RPM'S are like at 2600 and the car sounds louder and the idle is high............well I got my O2 sensor and my catalytic converter changed, but that took care of me running rich and the exhaust smelling bad.

bUT MY HIGH iDLE WIRD rpM problem is still there...ANYONE??? ANYONE GOT ANY SUGGESTIONS?????

Check vacuum hoses for breaks/leaks.

Just check them all. There aren't as many as you think. There is a vacuum hose diagram on the radiator cover.

Shoebox or anyone?

Do you think this high idle problem could also be a result of a PCV valve or no? I've heard one person saying the hose was bad. Also what's the readings for the IAC and TPS when running a scan it should be reading? I also heard of spraying carb spray for checking the vac leaks, you just spray around hoses or what and what happens?

I had a Vac leak around my PCV because the hose it connected to was cracked and the rubber grommet was hard. Seriously though, just go around your block in a systematic way and you'll find each vaccume related line. Just trace each line and look for problems. Spray some carb cleaner around some of the connections, if its leaking the engine will kinda do a very slight sputter.
