someone give me some help!?!

I have this loud nasty sounding whine/whistle that comes and goes coming from the underside of my car. I cant pinpoint it, but it really sounds like its coming from the pulley on the distributer. It doesnt sound like the belt slipping, and i think it might be the bearing. Does anyone have any ideas or know how hard it is to fix this. I havnt had a performance difference...just this annoying noise. Can a bearing be replaced and how will i know if thats whats wrong??? And last time i posted about it all i got were dumb jokes about those stupid whistler tips by Bubb Rubb...

too see if its the belt mist some water on the belt. also check the front breaks make sure the wear warning isnt rubbing the rotor. And when you say bearing are you talking about rod or crank or altnator?

I can tell right off the back that its not the alternator. Its coming from underneath where the pulley is on the distributer. can that pulley be removed and the bearings looked at. And if it is the bearing where can i get a new one?

Could be the "tensioner" pulley... the one that holds the serpentine belt tight. Try putting some oil on the center of the tensioner. There is a big bolt in the center, so put the oil around there. Don't get oil on the pulley contact surface or the belt.

There is also a bearing assembly in the front of the A/C compressor. I had to change that out once after some "spirited" driving.
