Here is the deal. I am going to be putting an xe 230/236 cam in my car along with 1.6 self aligning rockers. I have already purchased a set of comp 987 valve springs which were recomended to me. All I need to know now is what retainers, locks, etc. I need in order to use these. I am not interested in Ti retainers as the rpm wont neccesitate it. I keep getting different answers. Oh and by the way the heads are off the car so machining not a problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to have all the parts when I take the headsto the machine shop.

 

My springs came with the retainers/seats...?

 

What springs do you have? I ordered the Comp 987 and they did not come with anything besides the springs. Somebody please give me some part numbers.

my suggestion is to return the springs.

go to www.nu-tek.com and order their comp 987 spring package at $175 for everything you will need. specify you want the steel retainers so you ahve the proper installed heights.
