I have a LE2 cam in my Impala, but im not sure if its the same one you have Brett would probably know. With stock throttle body and NO tune I went to the 1/8 track last night and ran a best of 8.61 at 81.15mph with a 1.95 60'. Also add to those numbers that this is the first time ever I have been to a drag strip. I'm sure the car has ALOT more left on the motor but right now I am dealing with belt slipping issue at high RPM that making the car fall flat on its face. (Delteq and MSD DIS-4 dont like 11 volts) Once thats resolved I'm sure Ill be seeing high sevens in the 1/8.

Roadtrip, I would also like to know how you installed that LS1 lid on your car. But I also want to know if there was a performance difference from any other CAI made for an LT1 or was this just a peace of mind mod?

Wow, with all of your cam and intake sales that you have, you must surely be a board sponsor by now Will you please list track times that back up your statements reguarding increased midrange and more HP with less duration. What are your quickest LE1.1, LE2.1,LE2.2, LE3.1 cars running? I havn't noticed too many ETs posted. All of those decimals can kinda be confusing. But your right, it does remind me of software updates such as desktop dyno. Does that program list improved ETs with the new decimal point cams that you sell in every thread, or do you have to actually run the car at the track? You must have sold 200 cams to members of this board, so I don't want excuses about not having a car set up to run a number anymore. It's time to start backing this crap up MR. cam guru.

Very nice numbers, keeps me inspired to keep saving for a package, although those times are pretty good for only having LE1 heads. Good work LLoyd, Bret and Joe.

Re: some say ditch cc306 for the le cam when getting some lloyd heads?

James,

Nah I'd rather have monkeys like you advertise for free for me (check your sig)..... seems to work for Joe and Eric. Why you such a bitter ***** anyways? I could see a point to this attack if I jumped on your nuts before but I haven't, so here open the flood gates. GAME ON.

All the LE cams are done and sold thru Lloyd. He's a board sponsor and he came to me to help.... when he couldn't get help from your sponsor. (why I still don't know, but by the negative comments that come out of his mouth concerning Lloyd I imagine he's bitter, and very unprofessional IMHO) I'm just here helping Lloyd out by answering questions since I frequent the board more than he does AND I have more than a little knowledge concerning the questions at hand concerning the products I design.

I still don't know why you referenced that paragraph of everything I have said to attack me. I don't have the right to say what happens with me during conversations with my customers? Hell this thread you quoted has absoulte dick to deal with you or your "sponsor." (what are you a alcoholic?) It still makes me laugh that there are guys like you out there who have to fling **** and gossip like a old woman in a sowing circle, when the other guy is out there not stiring the **** pot around. I don't get into kiddy games James, I don't like the negative karma.

If you want some track times, how about you swap out all of your parts for one of Lloyds packages and see what you can do. They don't seem to do too bad for reasonably priced street car packages. Hell ask the guys out there running the LE stuff. I get calls all the time from customers with full weight small block street cars running 119-126mph NA in the 1/4, but if they aren't on here being the internet heros, oh well I don't give them free parts so I don't expect it.

I honestly could care less about ME going out and drag racing. I still will say I would rather have a '32 Ford with a Northstar in it than a car I can only drive to down the track and trailer home, just because I feel like I should prove something to guys like you. I already have enough redemption in my life. Believe me I think about building a drag car up to go race, then I remember that I don't like being broke and I really don't like spending all my free time under cars changing converters just to have bragging rights, If I was going to do all that I would go race for money. I spend all day playing with engines, my free time is spent enjoying my time, I don't want to do this 24/7.... it's already about 18/6 and thats still not enough time to get it all done. I have a genuine interest in engines and the technology around them, this is what I like, and unlike you I don't like being someones beotch to get what I want when I know I could do it better.

I come to the end of this and even wonder why I gave someone acting like a a$$ such as yourself the time here, but then I remember..... even my mother calls me a a$$hole so why not, the morons aren't allowed to run the world as long as I'm still kickin.

Good luck with your car.

Bret

Why do folks insist on starting carp? Immediately someone backed him up with a damn good time and trap speed. Now your stuck with your pants around your ankles I have personally seen and rode in LE H/C cars and they are no joke. In fact they are gaddamn animals. I think we should be thanking Lloyd and Bret for their service to the LT1 community not calling their bluff. I dont even have their products but I will say thanks to them for being here answering questions, helping us folks who dont know **** about head or cams, and helping us make awesome power for a reasonable price. Lloyd has always answered my questions on the phone about H/C packages and Bret always answers my emails about cams. Both are stand up guys who shouldnt have to tolerate nay-sayers. Would it have been so hard to make a thread asking for 1/4 ET/MPH's for LE stuff instead of calling a respected member out?

Re: some say ditch cc306 for the le cam when getting some lloyd heads?

I will vouch for Bret. I run a full weight 1996 Impala SS. With a little forged 355 LE2 heads and an LE1 Impala cam. Before I put Lloyd and bret's setup in the car I ran 12.70's with a CC503 and Agistino ported Iron heads. So let's calucate the new setup. 50 lb savings on the aluminum heads. Better flow numbers and a more low to mid torque cam spinning at 6700. I turn low 1.7 to high 1.6 60ft times on the old heads and cam. ET is in the 60ft. At 4460 lb FULL WEIGHT no gutting the car or lightening here or there with 1.6 60ft times I will see 12.5-12.3 Et's. On a camaro at 3500 lbs going by the average of 1 tenth per 100 lbs that will put me at 11.2-11.1 N/A. I see you Quickshotkimber are running a Joe O M O N S T E R cam. I am sure the car is gutted And Joe personally tunned the car right? What does the car weigh? 3300. 3000. By the way do you design cams? I thought the same thing on Lloyds setups about track times until I got mine. Dont critisize anyone before you know the facts. Open mouth insert FOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So setup for setup weight being the same and me running a MUCH smaller cam I am 2 maybe 3 tenths behind you. And I can drive mine to LA and back to NY with no problems. Can you? Oh and dont come back and say your car can beat the s*** out of mine . Yes it can but motor for motor there is very little difference. Opinions are like a**holes they are a dime a dozen. And most of them stink. All you can turn is 1.51 60ft with the Joe O MONSTER cam. Must be a small stall converter or 6 speed!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I even shook the tree on this one.... I didn't really mean to come down hard on him, but I do things like this in person to people I don't know so it's hard for me to hold back. Like this one time in band camp... nevermind

But at least we get this beauty

I agree with that, Chit getting deep in here!!! I don't have to say anything but this.. WHEN I did cams for Loyd , guys did run the number and not run the dyno's....And I didnt jump in any and every cam thread selling like a broke care salesman... If Loyd doesn't have you on his payroll and you are not an employee Of Loyd ..then you are a subcontracter, and as such doesn't give you any reason to push you cams here.... I didn't do it , but maybe I didn't have too...As far as Loyd, maybe its immoral for someone that comes to you with there hat in thier hand ,and then information is shared..Then the self -proclaimed guru that comes behind me ...takes what I have done changes a degree or 2 or not at all and claims time after time they are better,, but are they??

Since I was brought up again Brett ...
Fact is you havnt shown ,as you so graciously like to boast all the time ..that any or all of your so called revised cams are better than the originals...
I'm sure I could load up my bandwagon and slam pretty much all lt1s you've got cams in .. You know it and I know it... You opened this door not James!!!
have a great day , I know your busy with all the e-mail replies from all the cam threads you are in...

No hard feelings, But you left out some info,
Gearing, Auto or 6spd?
My times were run with a 6 spd. pulling 1.7 60 fts., Not to make up excuses, But give me an auto with a good stall and some 1.5 60fts. and that setup would have been alot faster...This car was my daily driver, very steetable and ran good times, I was very impressed for the amount of work I had in it...
And if Gary Lawson did have a 6 spd., The I'll give my congrats, Sounds like it was a good running car, Im just making sure we are comparing similiar setups for the benchracing..Thats all
Joseph

Yes it is a 6 speed with a stock 7.5 rear..so as you know hes not leaving all that hard.. and he pulls 1.8 on average 60 ft's because of that fear of breaking it..I believe he runs a 3:73 but not sure..
for all purposes Gary's car is a show car and daily driven,.,.
