Solid roller too aggresive for stock PCM and stock bottom end?

I have 60k miles on my hawk and I was considering a solid roller cam setup. But I was wondering if it is overkill since some of the CC extreme cams put out some really good numbers with a stock bottom end and decently ported heads.

The PCM for OBDI only allows for a max of 7000 rpms right?

Give me some feedback please!

Thanx, Rob.

You would not want to hit over 7k on a 2 bolt main setup anyway, but yes that is the limitation. Vulva ran a solid on a stock head/bottom 93, ~400RWHP.

I ran a 242/248 585/586 112 solid roller stock pcm/stock bottom end.

It really just depends on your goals what you should run. Like you said a XE will get you nice power.
