Question Solid motor mounts. Does it eliminate flex?

Brand new poly's are in they help alot w/ the engine not twisting but it's not totally gone. Because of it the y-pipe is banging right underneath me causing me to think I've got a permanent masseuse on my azz. FLP's and everyone that has them can relate esp w/ KBDD SF so do motor mounts get rid of all the flex? It's either that or the motor plates. thanks!

Its going good, thanks for asking Are you still in Germany? Yeah, that was a nice driveshaft....didnt want to sell it but really had no choice going to the 12 bolt. If you ever want to sell it back, let me know

Take care!

How much are solid motor mounts? Can someone chime in on the pro's and cons from SOLID, to Poly? Where can I get'em? I have a ES Tranny Mount, but I'm hearing horror stories of poly motor mounts...and I wanna get this squared away and have the mounts here to put the motor in this winter when the build finishes up...

Solid will give you some more vibration. They tend to rattle bolts loose all over the car too sometimes. Usually a race car only part for most people. But if you can deal with some vibration and chasing bolts that keep loosening up every weekend youll be fine. I have em on my 88 cutlass with a SBC and its not as bad as most people say i think, but then again i think a cams not big enough till the car can barely idle in gear. All depends on the individuals tolerance.

Thumbs up Re: Solid motor mounts. Does it eliminate flex?

Yep still in Germany. We leave this summer though and hopefully Italy or Belguim will be our next assignment. Really got a taste for Ferrari's to be honest. I just went to 3.73's and T2R diff and made a world of difference. I like that DS too much to give up. Supposedly I can have a 9" built around it w/out having to get another one so once I'm back in the US I'll do that. But if I ever do decide to sell it I'll give ya a ring.

You can pick them up from summit. Morroso solid mounts. Part # MOR-62635 Depends on the application on whether or not you'll get anymore or less vibration. At idle is where most people mention it occuring the most but nothing too harsh. Depends on the driver. My entire suspension is solid heim so I'm not concerned w/ vibes. I just want the damn engine to quit twisting under take off and WOT blasts. Guess that's what you get for being a 396 w/ over 440rwtq.
