Unhappy So white smoke = burning coolant right?

And if coolant is being burned, what does that mean again? Some kinda gasket leak? Can this lead to major damage if not taken care of?

I ask because lately the car has been spewing out a lot of white smoke. I hoped it was grey(which would be running rich) but i really do think its white. It smokes at all times, at idle, under WOT.

If so, I am really bummed, cause I cant spend anymore money on this damned car.

Please let me know what to do to further check to see if it really is coolant being burned. When I smell it, its kinda a weird musky smell...hard to explain. ALso, I have been leaking coolant forever. I thought I finally fixed all the leaks, but I guess not. Ofcourse if im burning it, then that would explain it.

Wont the oil be milky white if coolant is getting in there? The oil looks fine...

Thanks for any input as to what to do next

EDIT: I just searched some for this...blown head gasket. But these people have performance issues and such when this happens. SO maybe its not that. Is there anyway that it running rich could make smoke that looks white? Im pretty sure the car is running rich...it always smells like gas when I get in.

Coolant is bad for the valvetrain, bearing, and what not. It will freeze them up. I'd get it checkout out, compression test it.

Burning coolant probably means blown head gasket regardless of performance mods or not. They just go out. Sorry to tell you that. But other leaks could be coolant into oil which could be bad on the bearings and above mentioned. But if its burning it, its more than likely a head gasket or cracked head or cracked block. Sorry
