What cam would be the best for a well built 355 on a 150shot thats gonna keep me around 6500-6700? I want it to be driveable say if i wanted to go to the beach or something. Gas millage isnt a problem, nor is emmisions. Any suggestions?

Assuming a 355 motor with nitrous, and that you are insistant on the motor peaking at 6500-6700 rpm, then Combination Motorsports lists the following grind:

239/248 .577/.600 115LSA

This will be a pretty rowdy cam in a 355, but if your insistent on peaking that high, that cam will do it. You'll want some Comp R lifters and good valvesprings as well. Personally, I'd probably want something a little less drastic on cam selection, since the nitrous will be there if you need it.

You might have a problem with emissions with that cam. It is rowdy. If ya wanna pass emissions i wouldn't go with nothing bigger than the Hotcam or the C305.

Agreed. But if you read his original post, he said emissions was not a problem.

Besides, the Hotcam/CC305 wouldn't peak at the levels he asked for.

Well im running a hot cam now, and with factory 1.5 rockers it quit about 6000. I want the high rev cam to accomidate for the gears. The nitrous is jus gonna be a toy. 6500 is what im shooting for but really no higher than 6700. If i could get by with the 306 with 1.5 rollers, or smaller with 1.6 rollers that would be fine also. It has to be very streetable, as stated above emiisions is NO problem either is gas millage.

Gears that steep plus nitrous will probably mean shifting into 5th gear before the end of the quarter mile....not good.

4.10's would make me have to shift to but im not really a 1/4 raer nearest one is 2 hrs away. im a 8th racer/street. whats the rpm range on a 306 with 1.6's? If it in the 7000 range ill run it with 1.5's.
