...without needing to pay extra for butt lube? Trying to get some goofy pistons since I'm not happy with any off the shelf offerings for a 4.125 stroke engine. Building up an 18 degree 454 stroker. Last quote I had was astronomical, and I heard there was a place that made excellent quality custom slugs for around $650.

CP will probably be pretty pricy, but they make badass pistons.

My machinist had good things to say about my BRC pistons.

You are building an expensive block/head combo and expect to find pistons for cheap?

Why are you doing a 4.125 stroke? Std for a 454 SBC is 4.250x4.0

a 434 piston with a 5.85 rod instead of 6.0 will put you .025" in the hole, and those pistons are common.

Working with what I have, which is an internal balance 4.125" crank, bowtie block and it requires at least a 6.0" rod. I want to go as long as I can with the rods to improve the rod length to stroke ratio.

454 sbc's can be made many ways. One way is with a 4.125 stroke and a 4.185" bore. The block I'm using is at 4.165" now. I would rather use more stroke than bore anyway. I have enough bore that I dont need to worry about the bore shrouding the valves so much anymore.

Not necessarily looking for cheap pistons, but Im not looking to overspend either. If I can get a name-brand custom piston for somewhere for less and not sacrifice quality, then I'll go that route.

My custom JE Pistons came out to $1100, they are -16cc dished, 2816 forged alloy. They also came with nitrous pins and hellfire rings. They are going into my 383 stroker that will be sprayed on, and in the future, lowering the compression with some larger heads and slaping on a charger and abit of spray also.

Well - it sounds like a fun build, having big block displacement in a SBC is always nice. I think that your best bet will be like others said about calling JE about some custom slugs.
