150 miles on the new/used shortblock after the last motor lasted 1500 miles (piston pin backed out hitting the cylinder wall) but anyway, after that happened, i got a shortblock from a junkyard, they said it only had 40k on it and the car was in an engine fire, i seen the car it came from, it was deff. toasted. so we got it to the shop, installed my GM847, 1.6rr comp R lifters, LS1 Behive springs, with LT1 adaptors, pretymuch the works. i didnt beat on the motor once, it seen 4500rpm once when i did a rev up, but the rest was me babying it trying to break in the cam. at about 130 miles it started to tick, then knock. is it possable a rocker arm backed off? i just dont want to choke down that ive put 2 motors in it and both puked in 1 summer with out me beating on it. well anyway, heres the vid let me know what you think.

I'm by no means an "engine noise" expert. But what I hear from your clip sounds like lifter noise to me. I hope it's that simple for the sake of your sanity!

 

sorry to say it but it sounds like a spun bearing to me

 

sounds like a rocker to me...but i can barely hear on this laptop...but when i did rockers on my engine..it did the same thing.

 

im prety much assuming its a spun rod, it just sux something fierce 3 motors in 4 years

 

that is more or less the same as what my eclipse sounded like
its louder than normal valve noise and has a slightly different speed/pitch

Rod knock indeed. Valvetrain noise is a higher pitched tapping. That is a lower pitched 'thudding.'
