So I've decided that camshafts tick me off.

I wanna get a CC503, as it all around, seems like a better designed cam than a Hot Cam. Seems pretty ideal for stock heads. But a Hot Cam sounds mean as hell. A CC306 would get me the sound I want, but would need to be revved higher then I want on the stock short block, especially one that will see a 100 shot.

Anyone selling a LE1 cam That oculd work nicely too.

So im hoping PCMforless can get some decent lpoe out of a CC503 ...

If you are not concerned with the best cam and power for your setup, then by all means, choose a cam that will create the lope sound you want.

If you heard a Hotcam that loped, it probably wasn't tuned right and the idle was to low. It's not that they don't have a lope, but it's pretty small. Then again, so is mine.

i have a emmisson legal le1 cam it is a little smaller than the le1 but i will sell it to you for $150. it was only in the car for 7000 miles. pm me if interested, i am in the the works of putting my new le4 cam in. now if you want something with a lope then get the le4. lloyd's custom ground cams sell for $350 so this is a great deal and it won't last long.

A lot of the lope has to do with your exhaust. With my cc503 I didn't have too much lope until I put my headers on and then you could definetly hear it.

Shoe: I'm thinking about marketing a CD that gives the sound and vibration of a huge cam.

Yeah but you know, if the import guys ever get their hands on one, then we'll be in danger of losing races to them because their cars will sound meaner...

agreed, how much actual cam lope you hear is in the exhaust, and what tones it brings out. Slower idle helps make it more noticeable as well.

When you start getting into the bigger cams then there is no hiding it whatever exhaust you have.

Ive made some 503 and hot cam lope pretty hard. Most have been m6 cars but all i do is set the idle for 750-800rpm and bring down the initial timing down to about 25-30 degrees. That usaully does the trick.

just set the idle lower and get a free flowing exhaust

my cc503 with pacesetter mids and slp loudmouth sounds pretty "lopey" even idling at 950rpm

well said, it seems like every cam thread i read the first thing i hear is " i want it to lope" its like people are more worried about the lope than the actual power or matching the cam to what they really want
