So, if I need a new block....

I may potentially need a new block and I really don't want the money I spent on my LE2 package to go to waste, but at the same time, I want to move on to my future plans of a supercharged 383 build so I don't end up spending more than I have to overtime.

My question is, will my LE2 be any good on a blown 383? The other option will be a complete long block from Golen built for a supercharger. The mods in my sig are what will be transfered over to the new block, should I have to do so. The cam has similar specs to the LE2 cam, they are matched to heads.

Either way, if I need a new block, I will either be buying the 383 supercharger short block or the complete long block from Golen. I'm just trying to decide which route I should go, but I have had no time research much, since I wasn't planning on this happening for a quite a while.

Thanks a lot for any help

Seriously, call Eric at Victory Racing Engines for your shortblock. I believe the LE2 heads will be relatively well suited to your SC application, but I think the cam will need to be changed.

I looked at VRE and they are pricier than Golen, but I know they are very reputable and I haven't heard any negative feedback about them. I'm actually starting to look at a different route as well. Instead of the 383, I was considering just getting the 350 short block from Golen, all forged internals and just simply having the the shop swap all my new top end parts to the new block and still make a very nice amount of power with the NA 350. But then maybe spray it later on instead of the blower. That way I will have plenty of power available to me, but I won't really need to change my cam or anything about my current setup. I think it will just be flat out easier and less costly in the end.

Thanks

A shortblock built for N/A and spray use is not going to be ideal for Forced Induction applications..

It's really one or the other.

I know, I'm saying ditch the supercharger idea and just spray when I get the money and time. I think that will be much easier to do and cost effective.
