so i just picked up my first camaro
so i just picked up my first camaro
i've always wanted a Z28, and i've just picked up a 1993. it's in essentially showroom condition, beautiful bright red paint (and of course the black top) and it's got a not-so-bad 84,000 miles on it.
it's replacing my old 1989 mustang 5.0 convertible. i liked that car, and it's been modded a bit. 3.73's, CAI, cat-back with flowmasters + H-pipe, underdrive pulley and some other little things but that damn thing burned oil so bad. i'm talking about pouring a whole new quart in every 3 to 4 days.

is it just me or do all fords start burning oil eventually? it was a fun little car, but it's hard to get satisfaction from blowing away some poor sap's ride when you've got black smoke pouring out and it looks like your car's about to blow up. it was either get the engine rebuilt, or get a new car. the Z28 looks a million times cooler so i went with it.
i'm being long-winded. basically i'm just saying hi, the forum seems cool. what do you guys think about first mods? i would like to go exhaust, just so it sounds cooler if nothing else. it's bone stock right now, and as-is it's nearly as fast as my stang.

I would check out speeddensity.org for 93 specific info and questions, mods on the other hand can be used on all years 93-97.. so good luck and have fun with your car
Mods:
Intake
Exhaust
Roller Rockers
Gears
those are the basic bolt ons.. I believe there is a sticky on mods you can do.. and the search function works wonders.

since it's a 93 im going to recommend this site to you...
www.speeddensity.org
it's a dedicated 93 fbody website because as you will eventually learn the 93s had some major differences between the 94-97s
mortify beat me to it
as for first mods... intake, Throttle body coolant bypass (basically free), headers/exhaust, upgrade your plugs and wires, 160* thermostat, pcm tune from pcmforless or madz28. But i think if it is an M6 the first thing you should do is get a shifter like a Pro 5.0, that is personally my choice. Subframe connectors are also a good first mod, wont result in any power but the car will just feel better
