Ported heads with cc503???

I can't deside on getting my heads ported with this cam. There is a local shop that got 364hp and the guy was running the HC. I'm thinking if get them ported I'll want a bigger cam. But I have seen cars running 12-11's on stock heads.

No two cars will get the same hp numbers. You can get good times with a totally stock motor. What I'm saying is that you need to decide what your goals are. Low times, or high hp. Of course you "should" be faster with ported heads anyway as they are a huge restriction on these motors. If you trust the guy to do you right and you have the money, then get them done. Or you could just do the cam, see if that's enough, and then get the heads ported later.

The 3rd gens are lighter, IIRC, so with the right suspension, you should be close to your goal with that cam. If not, there's always nitrous...

thats good, get some gears and you'll be high 11's with drag radials, people have gone low 12's with bolt ons, gears, drag radials, some suspension, and a stall (if a4)

A cam only car with all the correct supporting mods should easily get you in the mid 12s.

From: NY...what a bad place for a nice car
that cam should put u in the mid to low 12s with heads. The only way u willl hit 11s is if your car hooks like a mother.......and your suspension is tuned correctly. Also launching rpms etc

Personally, if finances allowed. I would port the heads no matter what aftermarket camshaft I was going to run.

Agreed. Furthermore, some head porters can actually do more harm than good if they really don't know what they're doing. You definitely get what you pay for in this area of modification.
