it runs when its cold now! idles a little extra rough but im not to concerned about it for now. on a side note, damn my intake was nasty inside lol. carbon and what looked like some oil in there too. that cant be good for performance lol. looks like im gonna rebuild it soon anyways.

IAC = Idle Air Control

OK. I used my old one on my new BBK throttle body. I think it is the original 129,000 miles on it IAC valve. I bet it is BAD. That may be what causes my SES light and rough cold temp idling. Sound like symtoms of a bad IAC valve?

 

Hey ninetythreez, just try to clean it and see if that helps. I think that valve is close to 100 bones. If it doesn't help, then it won't be a difficult replacemtent.

My car was hard to start for a little while and always gave me a high idle when i started my car up. I went ahead and took the TB off and installed a new IAC because my stock one was disgusting. My car started up and idled like new for nearly a day and then it went back to being smart with me. Any ideas?

 

how can i clean it properly? what can i clean it with and not hurt the electronic connector on it? would rubbing alcohol be OK? Thanks!
