So I burnt 2 Taylor Sprio Pro plug wires... what should I replace them with?

Whatever brand gets the most positive feedback is what goes on my car.

Two other quick questions:

1. I've got Hooker LT's. Is it possible / sane to route them in the stock location? I'll be going to LT4 valve covers soon and would like to get the plug wire routing handled beforehand. Any tips?

2. Also, any good strategies for tightening the passenger-side plugs? One of the wires that I burnt was on the rearmost plug which had backed itself out because I wasn't able to get a wrench on it.

Thanks!

I like the Taylor wires. It wasnt the wire's fault it got burnt so I dont see why you should change the brand of wire you use.

yup, Talyor is the only thing I would place on my LT1, not trying to sound like an *** but as stated before that is human error, try an Over-the-valve-cover mounting kit from thunderracing, should fix your problem right there......

Ditto. Best money i've spent was getting the over the valve cover Taylor set from Thunder Racing.

I just have to be different.

MSD Superconductors and I did not use an OVC kit, I custom routed them under the headers on most and I brought them up and over with 5 and 7. I have Hooker LTs and no AIR or EGR or AC so I have more room to work with than people who still retain those things. Got about 700 miles on it now without burning anything.

I've used Accel 9000's with no problem. Last year I wound up chewing one on a pulley after my cam swap.. Since I was in a pinch, I just got the $50 (ugly grey) no name brand wires from Autozone until I could get some decent ones. Been on there ever since, doing just fine.

Moral of the story - Get whatever brand makes you happy, just be sure to take your time routing and secure them wherever possible.

you guys know you can just buy one or two wires separate right? In the case of Taylors they are $14 each, so if you need to buy more than 2 just buy the whole kit again so you have some spares.

Anyone have a good suggestion on how to do the passenger side wires? They seem to be a p.i.t.a. I plan on getting the over the VC kit but that will have ot be later since I Just had to order a new opti and stuff.

The only truely safe way to route wires with longtubes is to route them with Over The Valvecover wire looms. I would not feel comfortable at all running them in the stock location. I also second the Taylor wires. They have worked flawlessly on my SS and on my brother's 96 Z28.

And in regards to tightening the number 8 plug (rearmost on passenger side), the best way to do this is take the 15 minutes to remove the starter and voila, all the bitch of a time passenger plugs are right there. There is two bolts that hold the starter to the engine, remove these. Then remove the two bolts on the front of the starter and that is it.
