so aggravated

doing the tear down for my mac install and damn i cannot budge a single bolt on the y to manifold..i greased em down good to.. any special tool?..hints?..im stuck and cant budge any of these..im having problems with the drivers side y to manifold bolts...i cant even imagine how im gonna get in there on the passenger side..ahhhh..im determined to get at least the y of tonight..

Half of the manifold to Y bolts broke on me when I removed them. Just get a breaker bar and break those sumbitches!

PB Blaster and some luck. If you are putting headers on, you don't really have to worry about breaking them.

You need more power. Give your tools a shot of nitrous.

Breaker bar, deep 6 point socket and whatever extensions you need. Use a cheater pipe for more leverage if you need to.

If all else fails, you may need to get out the flame wrench.

If you have a set of oxy/acetyline torches and are careful you can heat them up until they're glowing red. Then let them cool down a bit and they'll come loose pretty easy.

spray pb blaster liberal, come back ten minutes later and they'll come off.

success..well kinda

ahhh beer break...went out there on a mission and managed to hulk off 2 bolts on one side while breaking 15 bloodvessels in my head and arm. only 4 more 2 go...i used a breaker bar on the 2 and the 3rd i cant reach the breaker bar to. how in the HELL am i going to get to the passanger side bolts? i cant even reach my hand in there?

the tranny cooler lines and y pipe are in the way of me even gettin 1 hand to the passanger side y to manifold bolts...the only possiblity i have is to weld off the y pipe..honestly how in the hell did you guys with headers get to the passanger side bolts..

I used a torch to take out the old y pipe and all that garbage. Then just unbolted the manifolds and dropped them some to take the bolts out. Then everything kinda fell out with some tugging. That and I have a 6 speed.

Torch up there sounds like a recipe for disaster. You should be able to break them loose by hand with a bar no problem
