smoke pouring from my passenger rear wheel!!

ok well for some reason, went to go get some food, made 2 hard passes on my back roads that i take and get home and see white smoke comming from the rear, so i freak out and immedialty check the exhaust, no smoke commin gout from there....then i look over and see that white smoke is comming only from the passenger side wheel...couldnt really tell if it was the brake, brake calipar, rotor, or rear end.....i change out my axel a while ago, but never changed the seals...could some rear diff be leaking out and drippping onto the hot rotor causing it to smoke? cause i dunno if it smells like rear end fluid or brake fluid ( burning)....
please help me asap...
thanks
Randy

I think you answered your own question....Pull the wheel.... Probably the axle seal is leaking, splashing on the rotor...

I think it will eventually cause the brake pad material to fall apart causing a metal to metal friction situation, not to mention the level of diff. fluid is steady dropping.....if that thing starts humming, stop driving it!

Yea, I don't mean the normal whine that you might expect from an aftermarket gear swap, but the sound from the gear lube getting low. I've never had that happen, but I would think it would be a noticeable difference from "normal" gear noise.
