small/sleeper cam safe on 135k miles?

ok, so i am looking to to get around 350 at the wheels with either the LE 212/222 .563/.562 114 LSA or 218/224 .570/.565 111 LSA.

this is a daily driver. i have heard from some experts that a bigger cam of any size on a 135k engine is foolish, yet i've seen many ppl on the lt1 community do the same on cars with high miles.

my car is not raced or at the track or doing 6k burnouts on any frequency than maybe a few times a year. spends most of it's life around 1700 to 4k revs. never abused and just looking for some additional grunt to not get embarrassed in a stoplight grand prix by all these new 400hp cars.

what are your opinions? is this safe for a daily driver? can stock bottom end handle this reliably?

I don't know who these "experts" are that you speak of.....but you could throw that cam into your engine with few (or no) issues.

Biggest thing I see is that you'll need the valve springs capable of handling the lift.....and a fresh PCM tune, of course.

BTW.....I have a 209/217 Lunati cam for sale.....$110 shipped. It was a bad match for my 4200 LB, '95 Impala. It has about 600 miles on it.

LMK if interested.

the experts are some cam opinions i've seen on the message boards regarding spun bearings. and a friend who's a mechanic. on the other hand, i see perhaps just as many if not more opinions like yours that say the lt1 will hold up fine with a small cam and new springs. i am also considering getting heads ported. wondering if worth the additional expense or just stick with the LE cam in the OP.

is that cam designed more for the impy? i have not seen that one? any links to additional specs/dyno/youtube etc. what's the lsa?

No.......it's better suited for a F- or Y-body.

Send me your email and I'll scan and email the cam sheet to you.
