sluggish engine and backfires

Can you guys give me some help cause I have looked at everything. I have a 97 LT1 in A 91 maro, as im driving the car lost all power and if you give anything over 1/3 throttle it boggs and backfires. Weird thing it is worse in open loop and when it kick into closed it isnt as bad. It does it driving and stopped and give it some gas, O2's are new and cycling, no ck engine light, and no vacuum leaks that I can find. any help would be appreciated.

Aside from timing, the only thing that really changes from open to closed loop is fuel. It sounds as though you may be running too fat. Have you looked at fuel pressure or what the fuel trims are doing?

I am geting about 3% on both banks with it at idle and around 16-17% on both banks. The 3% is short term and 17% IS LONG. I havent been able to check the FP yet cause I let a friend borrow my gauge and hasnt returned it. I might ad it is vety hard to start, and will bog down and hesitate at part throttle under 2400 rpm, floored and above that it seems fine just low on power. I am getting about the same Fuel Trims driving as well, O2's Cycling like they should and the last thing I am going to check is the regulator, I have a pump out of a 2002 LS1 Bird. I may be getting TOO much but I really need that dammmm gauge. Any other suggestion you may have I would greatly appreciate.
