SLP take off shocks
I've actually used two of these sets. Only hardware to worry about is the bushings and nuts for the top. If they are missing anything important it would be the bushings but then again you can reuse the old ones or run to the parts store and pick some up.
I was gonna get the take-offs because they are cheap and get the job done. I have decided now to go with bilsteins. I think I will like them a lot better. I dont think you need new springs, unless you want to lower your car. New shocks should do it, unless your car sags in a certain corner, then u might need a new spring. Check out the bilsteins gp or stranoparts.com . Thanks, Michael
no need to change the spring when changing the shocks.. 88k they should be fine for a long time...
check out my post in the autocross section on bilsteins. I think he gets em out quicker.. I already have my rear shocks.. he said the fronts would follow a few days after i got my rears. Only took 4 days for them to get here.
Just so u know SLP take offs are Decarbons. Your stock shock with maybe 5 miles on them. Great deal on stock shocks.

I got mine for $12.50 each! They are just ol' oem shocks. I think Bilstein take-offs would be a much better choice. These oem's just aren't very good. My car has 85k and I feel like my springs have already sagged a good bit.
I am very happy with mine.
I installed them when I lowered my car this past fall. They were as good as new, mine had all the harware included, maybe missing one washer or two but nothing that I could not reuse from the ones that I took off.
They are a great buy if you are happy with the performance of the stock components.

For use with a stock spring, they are sufficient and for the money, can't be beat.
But, I have to voice my opinion on their use with lowering/higher rate springs....
These are the absolute wrong shock to use with handling oriented springs. They will not last, end of story. They're rebound can't keep up with the springs and before long, they will go south. Mine have 23k miles and are in dyer need of replacement which makes me wish I had done it right the first time.
Having had the opportunity to drive two of America's finest cars ('93 Viper, '99 C5) and the importance of properly matched springs and shocks quickly becomes evident.
In short
take offs w/ stock springs = best bargain anywhere
take offs w/ aftermarket springs = biggest waste of time and money anywhere

I agree with Jason there. I wish I had just done it right the first time, don't get me wrong the SLP takeoffs are a great deal if you like the stock suspension, however if you don't then you may regret your decision just as I do now. Basically if you are planning on improving suspension DONT get these if you are leaving the car stock go for the take offs. Hope this helps!
