Re: SLP loudmouth on a LT1

the loudmouth def. sounds better on the ls1 IMO. i had a loudmouth with cats and manifolds and thought it sounded like crap. i also had it with longtube headers and no cats, and still thought it sounded like crap. which hands down sounds alot better, and the compliments i have gotten from it have shown. i have recently added an qtp cutout which has gotten alot of positive responses. the biggest problem i think with the loudmouth on the lt1 that i didnt like is, it sounded like the car was under water and was making a girgle sound. (more w/ the manifolds and cats than with the headers)

http://www.lt1engine.com/soundlib/slploudmouth.mpg my car with loudmouth, lontubes, and no cats. notice it sounds like a tractor at idle, which i also didnt like.

http://www.lt1engine.com/soundlib/corsa1.mpg my car with corsa, longtubes, and no cats.....much more refined and deeper. and doesnt sound like a tractor.

Schweet97Z ... I honestly think it sounded better with the loudmouth ... The corsa I always thought sounded TOO refined. Im not crazy about Borla's either unless the plate is Open.

Really the only ones I like the way they sound are Flowmaster ( Shut up, mine was a Free-Bee), Hooker, LM, and GMMG. I like em loud and uhmm Not so refined sounding.

To each his own, I still think that the LM on LT1's sounds like ***, and your car will not sound like either one of the videos posted... both of those cars have aftermarket cams installed, sounds a lot worse on a stock car.
