SLP headers vs Hooker Headers

I need some headers, that are emission's legal, but want the best power output. I'm really looking into SLP headers but I hear Hooker's are the best shorties you can buy. Anyone's opinions or experiences with these or other headers are greatly appreciated.

I have had the SLP shorties on my car for several years. Plug access is horrid, they leak, and installation was a b!tch. I would recommend Hooker or BBK.

Have you looked at Arizona Speed and Marine mid-length headers?

Slp have 1 3/4 primaries hookers have 1 1/2. Slp instalation is not that bad the hardest part is lifting the driver side motor to get the header in. It was harder to get the factory stuff out than put the headers on. Plug acces for #5 and #6 is tough but nothing compared to changing stock plugs. I had RkSports which are just like AS&Ms and I hated them. I changed to SLP's and have never looked back. Get a good gasket, not the ones they come with and they won't leak. I don't know were the SLP are Hooker is coming from but its not true. They don't look anything alike.

I just installed the SLP on my 97 Z28, and so far they have been working great. Plug access isn't much worse than it would be on the stock manifolds. Make sure you get nice gaskets and bolts, though.
