Question SLP headers

I can possibly buy a set of SLP headers from a friend pretty cheap; problem is mines a 97 which normally would be SLP #30017 and his is a 94 with single cat that's SLP 30015. Is it possible the older style header with single cat y-pipe would fit on my car? Would it require a straight pipe from the 30015 y-pipe to my existing catback? I plan on deleting my stock dual cat y-pipe anyway. Would the AIR and o2 sensors be located about the same for either headers? Have I asked enough questions yet?? If its a PETA then I'll go with the dual cat SLP's.......

You want the single cat style anyway, it will give you more power gains from what I have seen. The dual cat design is more of a true "shorty header" design while the single cat style is more of a midlength. I had to extend my oxygen sensor on the drivers side, you might have to on both sides, not sure, but it's really simple, solder or crimp it's your choice. I guess you can put simulators on the rears. You'll want to get your exhaust hooked up as much as possible, and take it to a muffler shop to have them fab up some sort of connection from the SLP Ypipe to your exhaust, it really shoudln't be that hard for them to do. Would probably be a good idea to ditch your AIR system while you're in there, you can remove the pump and lines but leave the fuse for it in the box under the hood and it won't trigger an SES light. As far as EGR someone else will have to answer that. It's not hurting anything by being on there, but if it's a pain to hook up you might as well remove/disable it.

I just got done doing it with rksport headers. Everything fit OK including egr. I had to pull the wiring loose from the keeper on the drivers side to get the 02 to reach. Now I just have to connect the y-pipe to the catback. Thunder racing sells the s-pipe you need THUNDER RACING pn# 99-s. But I found a muffler shop that will do it for $40. If you get that you will still need either a cat or OR-pipe to connect that pipe to your y-pipe. Instead if getting 02 sims just get a programmed OBD1 pcm it will be about twice the price but give you some hp. I would say go for it because they only sell garbage for 96-97 style except for LT's or if you want to drop some searios $$ for there dual cat y-pipes or OR-pipes
