Did you bleed the system when you finished up?

The CAI is easy to install. Rip out the old and in with the new. Really, it's simple

Yeah that is all you really gotta do for the thermostat swap. But to take full advantage of it you might wanna get your fans reprogramed to come on sooner. Or you can get a manual fan switch. I have the SLP CAI. I just used the instructions it came with. It is pretty easy to do. It looks really good and i believe it provided about 7-10 rwhp.

sounds like your gonna have fun,
you'll have to install manual fan switch to turn your fans on early or reprogram your pcm.
your temperture will still rise, untill the fans come on from the factory settings.

I have both (manual fan switch, and a tune for 160 t-stat) I can honestly say I dont use the fan switch anymore, well unless I am at the track or its CRAZY hot out, the tune along doesn't let the temp go over 1/4 (180?) Both are cool to have though

I'm right with ya...just bought a 97 Z28 and just put the SLP CAI on it. Mine came with great installation instuctions including pictures. Was a piece of cake, only took about 45 mins. Hell, took longer to get the filters put on than it did to install the intake. You'll see....

It took me about 1hr 45min for me to do it. But i did it at night with a flashlight. The filters were the hardest thing to get on with that little of space to tighten them down.

I just stuck the filters on my SLP intake and jammed them through the hole. They got squished a tiny bit, but it was worth it since Im no keeping in very long in favor of "other things".

Install Very easy. Where the CAI holds down behind headlights might need to be bent a bit. Install the filters AFTER the CAI is installed. I also cut a square C in the underside splash guard to form a small air scoop. It can be pushed back up if needed.

1msfyter, that is one clean engine compartment. Is there any advantage over having two filters on the SLP compared to having one on the K&N? I've been wondering about the airflow coming from two tubes rather than one, wouldnt the suction be less branching out into two tubes with two filters on it than it would be with just one larger filter?

what did you use to clean it?

I've also been wanting to which is better, K&N or SLP. Albeit the HP difference between the two would be unnoticeable, I'd still like to know.
