SLP Clutch/PP = AWESOME

So....after all sorts of problems, I finally got my car back.
Little background info, ordered SLP Clutch/PP/TO bearing and dropped it off the day before thanksgiving.

The shop put the clutch in, and the Master Cylinder died, started leaking into my car. Replaced that, slave cylinder went, replaced that, turned out the master cylinder they got was defective. Replaced that again, and then it wouldn't bleed right, finally after a week of screwing with it, its done, and let me tell you, great clutch!!

I can't beleive how many of the annoying problems that my car had that it fixed. I thought my tranny was dead before, it shifted like crap, felt like moving a stick in a bucket of marbles, but its like butter now. Also, clutch pedal effort if much less then my stock clutch, its just very touchy I guess since theres so much more "meat" on this. Comparing it to my old one when it was removed, the clutch was literally about double as thick as my old one. Can you say worn out.

Sorry for ranting, but I'm just glad to be in my car again.

The SLP clutch Assy is just a stock LT1 disc with an LT4 PP. Supposedly its good for 400-450fwhp. I run it with 383rwhp and dont think I have problems yet.

i dunno, I myself have heard the same thing over and over, but seeing it next too an OEM LT1 clutch I can safely say that it is indeed a different part.

Hey Blue89Bird if you don't mind me asking how much did they charge for the install? Was it a place that specilized in trannies or a do it all type place? I've had my SLP Clutch/PP sitting around for almost a year now and still haven't got around to getting it installed. My stock clutch is starting to go so I need to do it soon. I need to budget it in after I buy all my christmas presents and such. Thanks for the info.

It won't be as touchy once you get a few miles on it. Either that or I just got used to it.

it was about 400, but that was for more then just a clutch install.

That was including the replacement of the master cylinder and slave cylinders as well as the labor for replacing them and the clutch/pp.

Just a clutch install was 200-250 i belive and that included resurfacing the flywheel.

I took it to a place which just did tranny work.

Good to hear man! I've got an appointment coming up for install of the SLP clutch/flywheel, too, so hearing some positive feedback about it is great.

Hey ShelbyZ28, Speed, Inc. in Schaumburg, IL quoted me at $225.00 labor for the install. I know it might be a trek from Lafayette but they do great work from some of the best in the midwest. And they're a site sponsor, too.
