I have already checked the wires, and they look ok. The bundle is wrapped with heat protectant tape. The 0'2 sensors are connected properly, but the fact is I do not know if the car ever goes into closed loop. Temp never goes above 180 or so.

I will try the resistor, and see what happens. I just dont get it. The car runs perfect, has some surge and sometimes idles a little irratic but goes away when warmed up.

I dont know if 12degrees of timing retard really is robbing of my mph, I expected it to trap over 110mph as compared to other cars in this board. would this really rob me of 100hp?

pretty close. how does the car feel when you drive it? does it feel like it could trap 110? there should be a huge sotp difference. does it seem to pull hard?

Make sure the ground wire is connected to the block and it is making good contact. If the wires are indeed in place and are not bad ....replace the sensor.

GB95conv,

Where is that wire? I'll look for it.

Thanks

Could you explain this? At WOT the O2's aren't even being used, the car goes into enrichment mode. I'm just curious b/c my car doesn't go into closed loop very often b/c I never did the heated O2 conversion.

The sensor plug has 2 wires.....one goes into the harness the other is a ground to the block.

Wait a minute, there are 2 wires coming out of the knock sensor, I thought it was only one. A dark blue wire. The other posts said the sensor get's its ground from actually making contact witht the block. Please explain. Because if that is the case, than that is my problem, I have no ground wire coming out of my sensor, only blue.

Please clarify.

Thanks

For the moment I have bypassed the knock sensor. I used a 1/2 watt 3.9k Ohms resistor, grounded it to the frame, and the code was gone. By doing this, I have eliminated the pcm's ability to pull timing right.

Well after car got warmed up, I decided to give it a go against my brothers car. He has...hotcam kit, Hooker Lt's, Dual Exhaust, offroad pipes, no mufflers, CAI, and PCM4less tuning, 3.73 gears with 6-speed. Normally traps 108, sometimes as high as 110 in the 1/4, with 82-83 mph traps in the 1/8. He has an M6.

My car (sig in bottom, less 3.73 gears, not installed yet).

This is how it went.

We went from a 20mph roll, he honked 3 times, I dont hear them and he guns it first. As i hear his engine roar, I gun it too. I immediately reel him in, hit 2nd put a 1/2 length on him, car is pulling strong at this point. When I hit 3rd it is all over, he roars past me and pulls 1 1/2 car length on me, at this point we are going close to 100 if not more. I also just let go after he passed me.

I still cannot believe it, my car should be as strong or not stronger than his, I should be putting those couple car lengths on him.

I am about to put a couple bullets in my car, If I dont kill myself first. What else could be wrong.

I will be installing those 3.73 soon, and buy a real CAI,.

On a side note: When car is first turned on I can smell a very rich smell of octane (gasoline) in the air. Car is running rich. Runs good through 1st-2nd, but momentum really slows after I hit 3rd.

Man this sucks.

well, i can tell you that part of the reason you have no top end is because of that crappy 2.25 inch pipe you have on your exhaust. you are choking the hell out of that thing up higher in the rpms.

Do you honestly think that is part of my problem. I mean how much a difference would it be. My exhaust set up consists of Hooker Lts, no cats, no mufflers. After the Collectors, it basically just has two 2.25 inch pipes that extend only to the front of the rear tires, make a turn towards the outside of the car with turndowns.

I think they are 2.25 or maybe 2.50, they are not big, I know that. But anyways this set-up in only momentary as I will extend them to the end with bigger pipes, and straight through mufflers.

On a side note: I just download TTS, and Freescan, but need to get the cable. I will scan my car to see what it is doing.

It has to something else.
