my car feels slower after I replaced my opti, could the new one have different timing?

Some car info would help. As for timing, the PCM sets the timing, there is no manual way to advance or retard. For being slower, is the engine running smooth? Any evidence of a slight misfire still? Make sure you connected all the plug wires correctly, and make sure they are seated all the way.

 

If we knew what year your engine was, we would know if you used a vented Opti or an unvented Opti. With the unvented Opti, its possible to index the Opti incorrectly to the cam, by not aligning the splined drive shaft correctly. That would throw the timing off, and reduce power.

Why not add a "signature" with basic info about your car.... model, year, engine, tranny and any major mods. Without that info, people are just guessing.
