the lifter bore you take a slotting tool and put a straight line the whole length it was a old school trick before hyd now i hear its bad on hyd. its a extra drain back to bleed off pressure and get more oil on the cam

Yeah you don't need to do that on a roller cammed motor at all.... do you have this done?

yeah i do its a shame cause i know better but my dumb *** cousin did it. from gaining knowledge over the years everyone i used to look to i look down at now...... anyways going solid will fix this right? I did not see any side effects from this that i could tell but i was thinking of going solid anyway plus they have that oil problem that this might help

It's alright to do it on a solid roller, but not all the way up. It goes from the oil hole in the block down toward the cam.It was used to oil the rollers on the lifters and the cam. Wasn't anything about bleeding any pressure.
Crower and Isky now have mech rollers that are pressure lubed and ya don't have to do it.
Going solid or putting bushings in the block will fix it. Me I would bush it if they are all the way up the full length of the lifter bore, cause that's not the proper way

Sounds like a good idea. Around here that's something like a $600 job to get it done right. Probably a lot more $ than it cost to slot them.

Another thought-- they make mech lifter's with larger bodies than SBC size. Ya could have the the lifter bores bored to MOPAR size and get the bigger lifter's.
If ya don't have a bunch of money tied up in the block,I would get another one vs oil spraying all over the lifter valley.
