skip shift eliminator

does the c.a.g.s skip shift that was programmed into the cars with t56 actually help with gas mileage? i'm thinking about spending the 30 bucks to get a skip shift eliminator, but if it does actually help get better fuel economy then i'm going to leave it.

also, are shorty headers worth the while for a daily driver? thanks for your help and time.

You could shift to 4th gear yourself if you wanted to. Don't pay 30 bucks to eliminate it. I just crawled under and unplugged it.

Sorry I didn't see the second part of your question...also you're from OKC!!! Shoot me an IM sometime we'll head out to the cruise spot suck up a drink at sonic and talk some cars. As for headers I'm planning on doing shorties or long tubes next spring, but I'm not sure which. Is it worth it? I think so you'll pick up an addition 10-15 rwhp with shorties and probably 15-20 with LT's. I definately say go for it. Only downside is you tend to loose some torque but you'll get strong pull all the way to redline once you free up the exhaust which is a major restriction on these cars.
