Single plane conversion

Im looking at doing a single plane conversion and was looking the the edelbrock intakes. There is a victor e and a super victor efi. Anyone have any experience on which would be better for my application.
engine specs
383 11.9:1 static comp
solid roller 700 lift with 254/264 dur on a 105.5 ls
le ported tfs heads with 2.08/1.65 valves
whatever i put on it will have ~250 shot of nitrous on it
1 7/8 fenderwell exit headers
this will be strip only with stock ecm and shifting around the 7000 rpm range

I would spend that money on engine management first....

But going to a single plain you either need a vortec bolt pattern(if they even make one) or get the heads redrilled for a standard sbc bolt pattern.

Im not worried about bolt patterns, I can take care of that, im more worried about which one is correct for what Im trying to do.

werd. the engine wants to be spun past the pcm limits (with what it has, and what the OP wants to put on it), but cannot.

OBDI will go into limp mode at ~7100-7200 RPM. OBDII shuts down at 7200 RPM. Cutting it close IMO, especially if your tach is lazy or inaccurate.

But you probly need to get it 7200 or so.

Shift point will kill a combo, my but can shift at 6500 and run 10.0's but at 6700 it will go 9.70's

The link above is what you want.....then you need to have it port matched, buy rails/fitting and external regulator.

There is pics of mine on my fquick page......It not the greatest thing but it works.

Will the 8 bolts on the outside line up with the lt1? looks like they go straight down vs the lt1 intakes. and do these intakes have enough room to port them out to lt4 sized ports.

I have the vic-E.....We had to epoxy the top of thwe ports b/c they were too big to fit my heads and the deads didn't have much more room so we left them alone. My bolt angles are not right.....the frikkin bolt hit on one side more than the other. The 2 bolts in between the runners...I can only get one on each side b/c the intake is right up to the hole and you can't put a bolt in it. So mine is kind of rigged up.......I hate it but not much I can do about it right now and it works so.... oh well

Find a reputable machine shop in your area...if you have the heads the intake will ride on they will need both to match the bolt holes. Then you can probably have Lloyd match the ports up for you since you live pretty close by. I havent talked to him about doing mine cause I still need to have the bolt pattern matched first.

Im doing the same conversion, but Im waiting to get a set of heads so I still need a few more parts. I got the vic-e also, areomotive reg, rails, 42#ers. Just need a set of heads now. Im going big hydro roller also so I should be good with the stock PCM...street/strip setup.

Hope that helps.

Does the vortec bolt pattern get closer on the 8 permitter bolts? I know vortecs dont have the 4 bolts in the middle.
