Single to Dual cat with headers, have a question

I have a question to anyone who has a single cat LT1 and went to dual cats with headers. What did you do with the bracket that connectrs the rear of the trans to the cat? Since that cat wont be there anymore, did you get rid of the one part of the brace that connects to the cat and leave the one bolted to the trans? Thanks.

I just got rid of it. If you wanted to you could get a welder to tig a piece to the dual cat pipe and then fasten it to the bracket but I chose to just do away with it. As long as the rest of exhaust is solid you should have no problems.

Its 2 peices? Which one did you get rid of? or both? The one that goes tothe cat and goes into the rubber mount, OR the the onle unit from the trans to the mount that bolts to the cat. Thanks for input.

I left the piece attached to the trannie but I will be taking it off when I replace my tranny mounts. what headers/dual cats are you going to run? Only reason I ask is because there are clearance issues with the drivers control arm and the cat because the headers for 97+ rattle on the drivers control arm since our 93-94's did not come with dual cats...just something to think about with using shorty headers..the midlength seem to have no problem.

I am gonna be getting Jet-Hot LT's with 2 carsound high flow cats, buddy of mine with a 96 ws6 just did the same setup i did, and his car is LOW and dont have that many clearance issues. Do you think I will be? Its the same undercarage and space isn't it?

do a search on lt fitment issues, I know someone on the board had a clearance issue with the drivers side transmission piece and had to get a custom bend made for the pipe. I am going to go LT's myself as soon as the H/C is put in.
