Re: Simple ?

I would assume it owuld have to be modified for it to work.

The gear on the back of the cam shaft that spins the distributor on conventional SBC's is useless on an LT1, Im not sure what would have to be done so that it would fit.

Also, the Opti is driven off of the camshaft. You would have to have a machine shop modify the camshaft so it will turn your opti.

The price you would spend in doing this, you would be better off to either go with a off the shelf LT1 cam ( Which there are some very impressive ones out there ) or just buy a custom ground LT1 cam. I believe for a custom ground LT1 cam your looking at approximately 600 to 700$. I am not positive about this price though so dont take it for gospel

Re: Simple ?

The lifter's will fit and work, but they have to have a HIGH tie bar. Got two sets of Crower's.

Re: Simple ?

The standard lifters will work if you machine the block to accept them, not really worth it IMHO.

Anyone who says that the cam gear on the back of the cam is useless in a LT1 obviously doesn't care if their oil pump works.
