Signs of a dead opti...????

Quick run down on the issue.. For a couple of weeks, the car was breaking up, but only at higher rpms. It was pretty consistant etc etc.. Was driving the car, and the car just lost power, now won't start again.. I was thinking that the opti was dying out on me 82k miles on original. I ran a code scanner on it yesterday ,it didn't throw a code, but i've heard that it always doesn't throw one.. What's your thoughts??

Have you checked your ignition coil?

DO you still have your stocker? DOes it work? You may want to throw it in and see if that fixes anything.

YOu want to check whether or not your are getting spark out of the ignition coil.

Don't have my stocker any longer, i'm going to try and track one down before i tear into the opti i guess.. So frustrating when u can usually pinpoint what the issue is without though, but when a few factors come into the picture, gets aggravating!!!

couuld i take the wire that comes out of the coil that goes into the opti and crank it over to see if there is spark??
