Signs of a bad opti?

What are the signs of a bad opti? Right now my car's sputtering a lot. When I hit the gas when I'm cruising, it'll just sputter and won't accelerate, and if I slam on it and get it to downshift, it'll accelerate fairly slow and sputter a lot when it gets to the upper RPM's.

Is this my opti? Or is it something else? Someone said it may just be something as simple as my TPS, which would be nice. I just put an LT4KM on so it's not the knock module. Plugs are new. I'm assuming it's the opti, but I don't wanna buy a new one if that's not the problem. Any insight would be helpful.

Kyle whats the mileage?? I mean it COULD several diff. things but if the mileage is above say, 50k then theres a good cahnce it could be. If i was u i'd replace the fuel filter first just see what it does, then clean ur injectors good let'em soak in carb cleaner but take off the o-ring seals and replace'em. Just a few cheapo things before u get into "Your First Opti change. But all things aside atleast u'll know when u need to change the FF again.
Hope this helps

LT1s stutter for so many different reasons. Have you changed the plugs, wires, and coil yet? From your description it does kinda sound like the opti though. Just try the cheaper, easier fixes first to rule them out.
