Actually, their no where near 46-47 bucks, what you see is the hydraulic lifter single price. They just come in a pack of 8. Go to check out after putting it in your cart =/.

you said your exhaust got louder, ive had my header gasket blow out before and the header will bang up against the head if the bolt backs out, check for exhaust leaks

How's the temp. doing? I know when I spun a bearing it heated up pretty quickly and the I lost oil pressure. If it was cold and I started it, the pressure was fine. It sounded like a pair of shoes in the dryer to me not just a little clacking!

Find the post by Dave88LX and listen to his bad rod bearing. If it sounds like that, then you will know. When I spun a bearing oil pressure was still good and ran fine. Sometimes didn't even make any noise.

Shoebox:

???

Just listened, mine sounds similar but it doesn't sound like something rolling when it revs higher. Damn it, that sounds pretty close to what I have going on. His sounds like its something rolling when he revs it, mine sounds like something moving up and down and hitting on metal, as if the pan got dented and something is smacking the oil pan. Okay guys, worse case scenario and I have to pull the short block....

Where can I find a replacement short block if I can't spend enough to go with more cubes or machine work? THanks.

Ok, its definatley rod knock. Anyone know where I can find a assembled short block to just slap my top end over? Need a low milage (20k or less) or a freshly built.

Awesome, just called my buddy, he has a shortblock out of a 96 Caprice, anything different on these? I told him to check the castings and make sure its not a baby LT1 and that its a 350. Are the pistons, rotating assembly, bolt holes different or is it just the iron heads and cam? Thanks.

Everything should be the same as long as it was out of a C91 or whatever that code is for the 350.

Cool beans, going to pick it up this friday. Anyone know if I should buy some new rods and pistons, basically I would like to make this bad boy rev up to at least 6700 rpm without having this crap happen again. Would the crank need to be changed? His block only has 15,000 miles on it.

Re: Sigh, I knew this would happen, but not this quickly.

So anyone know if I can just change the rods and pistons to make this capable of high revving? Its going to be just an NA motor with a few track runs, probably 1 run per 2 months.
