Siezed 95 LT1

My son calls me and tells me his car died well it turns out the motor is siezed.
I don't know how this happened yey but I want to know where I can find the best priced rebuild kit. I think I will be selling the car after I go through it. So can someone help me out with a master kit at a reasonable price??? Thanks,
Butch

OK Ithought I would get at least 1 reply. How about a good price on a longblock or shortblock in basic stock form for a 95 Z. Thanks for the help.

If it was seized, then probably the block needs machined also, if it didn't crack.

I wonder how much Chevy charges for an LT-1 shortblock? That standard 350 crate engine is $1250 or something like that.

Re: Siezed 95 LT1

also check out chevy high performance, super chevy, hot rod, and other car magazines, they have all kinds of advertisements of rebuild kits and already machined/assembled short blocks.

if you wanted something reliable at a decent price, i would definitely call summit. you can also get kits from napa, autozone, advance auto, etc, but I wouldn't just from experience.

have you pulled the plugs and tried to turn it over by hand?

good luck.

Re: Siezed 95 LT1

Well, you might consider just selling it AS IS, unless you can get a complete engine from the bone yard and install it yourself.

I don't see the point in rebuilding the engine including the money and labor it will take and then selling it. Buyers don't consider what you have into it, they just consider what you are asking for it based on the market. JMHO
